Type: F. sibirica Hack. ex Boiss.

Notes. Dioecious or monoecious plants from stony slopes, rocks and screes, (20-)30–120(-200) cm tall; leaf sheaths without auricles; lamina flat or convolute, up to 4(-7) mm broad; scelerenchyma as individual bands opposite vascular bundles; glumes almost entirely membranous; lemma awnless or mucronate, with a conspicuous keel all along or almost all along length; ovary somewhat pilose at the tip.
