Vegetative morphology. Rhizomes present (short). Culms 4050 cm tall. Culms nodes 2. Sheaths shorter than the internode. Sheaths glabrous. Auricles erect swellings, or absent. Ligules 0.40.6 mm long. Ligules margins ciliate. Leaf blades conduplicate (linear, tender). Leaf blades 720 cm long. Leaf blades 0.180.22 mm wide.
Floral morphology. Inflorescences loosely open. Inflorescences 10.511.5 cm long. Inflorescences branches 1.56 cm long (smooth). Inflorescences branches at the lowest nodes 1. Spikelets 6.57.5 mm long. Spikelets greenish (grey). Florets 3. Glumes glabrous. Glumes margins narrowly membranous (narrowly). First glume lanceolate. First glume 2.83.2 mm long. Second glume lanceolate. Second glume 3.53.8 mm long. Lemmas 5.35.7 mm long. Lemmas veins 5 (obscure). Lemmas glabrous. Lemmas apices awns absent. Paleas equal or subequal to the lemmas. Paleas keels glabrous. Anthers 2.32.7 mm long. Ovary apices glabrous.
Ecology. Flowering time Jun.-Jul. Under forests; 2800 m. Distribution. Southwestern China: Yunnan.
Notes. Apparently close to F. jacutica but we have not seen specimens.
