Plants with tillering leaves 1/4 to 1/3 the length of the culms. Rhizomes absent. Culms 1530 cm tall. Sheaths glabrous. Auricles erect swellings, or absent. Ligules 0.91.1 mm long. Ligules margins ciliate. Leaf blades filiform. Leaf blades conduplicate. Leaf blades 715 cm long (cauline leaves). Leaf blades adaxial surfaces glabrous. Leaf blades abaxial surfaces glabrous. Flag leaves blades 1.53 cm long (cauline leaves). Flag leaves blades distinctly shorter than the sheath. Leaf blades 0.40.6 mm wide. Veins 5. Adaxial to abaxial sclerenchyma strands absent.
